About us

GateFrames (gateframes.com) designs, builds and ships custom steel driveway gates from its own shop in San Jose, CA. You size the gate to the inch on the product page, the price updates as you configure it, and the same people who built the site build the gate. Around that gate we sell what it takes to run one: the openers and operators, the hardware, and access control - and we are building toward a place where you can buy those from every major gate brand in one order.

What we do

  • Build gates to order. Every GateFrames gate is cut, welded and powder-coated in San Jose, CA from your dimensions, and carries a lifetime limited structural warranty. How that happens is on the factory page.
  • Price it honestly, instantly. The configurator is the quote. Freight is billed at the carrier's cost, insured for full value, and never called "free". See Shipping & delivery.
  • Sell the rest of the system. Openers, operators and hardware from the brands that make them, matched to the gate you are buying, with the manufacturer's own warranty and documents on each product page.
  • Answer the phone. A factory line during business hours, email any time, and an AI gate expert on every page that knows the catalog and hands hard questions to a person. Start at the Help center.

Who is behind it

GateFrames was founded and is run by Richard Ryan, who writes the planning guides on this site and still answers customer questions. It is a small company on purpose: the person who quotes your gate can walk to the welding table. GateFrames is a trade name of StandardGates, Inc..

GateFrames gates are fabricated in our own shop at the address above, and we like showing it off. Customers are welcome to stop in any time we are open (Mon – Fri, 7am – 5pm Pacific) and watch how a gate is cut, welded, and finished - it is the fastest way to see the material thickness and weld quality that photos flatten out. A call ahead means someone is free to show you around. Local customers can also skip freight entirely and arrange will-call pickup of a finished order here. Email or call to schedule either one.
