Short answers to the questions every buyer asks before and after ordering, with a link to the page that has the full detail. If your question is about your gate, your order or your driveway, the gate expert at the bottom of this page is faster than reading.

Ordering a gate

Every GateFrames driveway gate is built to your opening. You choose the width, height, style and options on the product page, the price updates as you go, and checkout is online any hour. Sizing to the inch costs nothing extra — a 13' 4" gate is the same price as a 13' gate of the same design. Not sure what to measure? Start with the measuring guide, or send us a photo of the opening and the assistant will walk you through it.

Because the steel is cut to your numbers, an order can be cancelled for a full refund only before fabrication begins. After that it is a custom part and the returns policy applies.

Pricing and payment

The price on the product page is the price of the gate. Freight is separate: checkout charges the shipping amount shown on the product page, and the carrier's actual charge for your address is settled with you before the gate ships. Freight is billed at the carrier's exact amount — no markup, no handling fee — which is also why we never say "free shipping". We accept the cards and wallets listed in the site footer. How it works in detail: Shipping & delivery.

Shipping and lead times

Gates ship on a pallet by LTL freight to all 50 US states, insured for their full value at our expense. Each product page shows an estimated ship date from its production lead time; transit is typically 3–8 business days after the gate leaves the factory. The carrier calls to book a delivery window, and a lift-gate can be added at checkout if you have no way to unload a pallet. Local customers can collect at the factory instead. Everything about delivery day is on Shipping & delivery.

Track your order

Your order confirmation email links to your order page. Sign in with the email you ordered with and it shows where the order stands — processing, shipped or delivered — with the carrier's tracking number once the gate is on the truck; the "shipped" email carries the same link. Signed-in customers also find every order under their account. If you opted in at checkout, the same milestones arrive by text message. Can't find the email? Ask the assistant "Where is my order?" with your order number and the email you ordered with, or send us the order number.

Returns and damage

Unused, uninstalled items can be returned within 30 days of delivery unless the product page says otherwise; a change-of-mind return on a custom gate carries a 25% restocking fee and return freight. Freight damage and defects are never a return you pay for — note the damage on the delivery receipt, photograph it, and report it within 48 hours; we file the claim and repair or replace. Full terms: Returns & refunds and what to do on delivery day.

Warranty

Gates and fence panels we build carry a lifetime limited structural warranty unless the product page states a different term. Openers, operators and access-control equipment we resell carry their manufacturer's warranty, and we help you use it. What is covered, what is not, and how to file: Warranty & claims.

Installation

Most of our gates are installed by the homeowner, a handyman or a fence contractor; a two-person crew with a level, a drill and a post-hole plan is the usual setup. The installation support page covers what ships, what you need on site and where to get help mid-install, and the weekend installation guide walks through the whole job.
