About

The Linear AK-11 (Nice order number ACP00748) is a hard-wired exterior keypad built for entrances that see real traffic. Each code can trigger either of two relays or both: a driveway gate on one, a pedestrian door strike on the other.

480codes
1–6digits per code
2 + 2relays + outputs

The cast-aluminum housing is gasketed against weather, and codes live in EEPROM, so a power cut never erases them.

What's in the box

  • AK-11 keypad with its mounting backplate and keylock (the keylock secures the keypad to the backplate)

What you'll still need

  • 12–24 V AC or DC power: most installs use the gate operator's auxiliary or radio power terminals. An AC supply must be isolated from the device the keypad controls.
  • Wire: 18 AWG for power and earth ground (up to 500 ft), 22 AWG or heavier for the other connections. A gate typically needs 4 conductors (2 power, 2 control).
  • An earth-ground connection for static protection
  • A mounting spot: a pedestal (4 security bolts and lock nuts) or a wall (wedge or molly anchors in concrete)
  • For a door: a low-voltage electric strike or maglock and its power supply

Will it work with my opener?

The AK-11 isn't tied to a brand. Its Relay 1 common and normally-open contacts wire to any gate operator's OPEN (dry-contact) terminals, so it works with Linear Pro / GTO / Nice, LiftMaster, Mighty Mule and other operators that have such an input. It also drives low-voltage electric strikes, maglocks and solenoid locks, and its two solid-state outputs (100 mA) can signal an alarm panel or a light.

  • No radio and no Wiegand interface: it's a stand-alone wired keypad.

Two relays, four outputs

Relay 1

Form C, 5 A: the main gate or door.

Relay 2

Form C, 1 A: a second gate, door or light.

Outputs 3 and 4

Open collector, 100 mA: forced entry, door ajar, lockout, alarm shunt, request-to-enter or keypad active.

Each relay runs 0–60 s (default 2 s) or toggles on and off.

Security and programming

  • Codes of 1–6 digits (one length for all; set it before adding codes)
  • Programming at the keypad with a 6-digit master code (default 123456, change it first)
  • Lockout for 60 s after 2–7 wrong codes (default 3), shown by a yellow LED
  • Timed anti-passback (1–4 min) and door-sense or inhibit input
  • Courtesy light: off, always on, or for 1–4 minutes after a key press; a beeper confirms each key

Frequently asked questions

Is the ACP00748 the same as the Linear AK-11?

Yes. ACP00748 is Nice/Linear's order number for the AK-11 Exterior Digital Keypad.

Will it work with my gate opener?

Almost certainly, if the opener has a dry-contact OPEN input. Relay 1's common and normally-open contacts wire to those terminals, and the keypad can run on the operator's 12–24 V auxiliary power. It isn't limited to one brand.

Can it open a door strike or maglock too?

Yes. The manual shows low-voltage electric strike wiring, and Linear lists magnetic and solenoid locks as typical uses. With two relays, one keypad can run a gate and a door, and each code can be set to open either one or both.

How many codes does it hold, and how long are they?

Up to 480 codes of 1 to 6 digits. All codes share one length setting (default 4), which you should set before programming any codes.

How is it powered?

12–24 V AC or DC, drawing 10 mA typically and 150 mA at most, from the gate operator or a separate supply. An AC supply must be isolated from the device the keypad controls. It has no batteries.

Are codes lost in a power outage?

No. EEPROM memory keeps every code and setting without power.

Is it wireless?

No. The AK-11 is wired only and has no radio. Linear's AKR-1 is the version with a built-in 318 MHz radio; the F310 is a lower-cost keypad that can run wireless with Linear Pro / GTO openers.

Does it have a Wiegand output for an access-control panel?

No. Linear's documentation lists no Wiegand interface. It's a stand-alone keypad with two relays and two solid-state outputs.

What happens after wrong codes?

After 2 to 7 wrong codes (you choose; default 3) it locks out for 60 seconds and the yellow LED lights. Timed anti-passback (1–4 minutes) is also available.

Is it lit at night?

Yes. The courtesy light can be off, always on, or on for 1–4 minutes after a key press (default 2). It uses an incandescent bulb.

How do I program it?

Everything is programmed at the keypad. Enter programming with # 9 # and the 6-digit master code (default 123456). The full sequences are in the manual under Documents.

Can it be mounted outdoors, and how?

Yes. The cast-aluminum housing has a neoprene gasket and is rated −22°F to 149°F at 5–95% humidity. It mounts on a standard pedestal with 4 security bolts and lock nuts, or on a wall. A keylock secures the keypad to its backplate.

What's the warranty?

Nice lists a 12-month warranty for this keypad.
