About
The F310 is a gate keypad that gives family, staff and regular visitors their own 4-digit code instead of a remote. Mount it by the driveway and it transmits at 318 MHz to a Linear Pro / GTO gate opener with no wire to trench, or hard-wire it to another brand's low-voltage opener.

What's in the box
- F310 keypad with its hooded cover
- Mounting screws for the cover and keypad
What you'll still need
- 3 AA batteries, unless you power it from the opener at 8–24 V AC/DC
- A post or wall at least 10 ft from the gate, within 50 ft of the opener's receiver for wireless use
- For a wired install: 16-gauge stranded direct-burial low-voltage wire in PVC conduit
- For wireless use with another brand's garage door opener: the GTO RB709U-NB receiver
Will it work with my opener?
- Linear Pro / GTO swing and slide openers (including the PRO-SW2000XLS, 3000XLS and 4000XLS): wireless or wired. Set its DIP switches to match your opener's remote. The GP series is wired only.
- Other brands, hard-wired: gate or garage door openers of 24 V or less that accept a normally-open contact. Wire it to the opener's CYCLE and COM terminals.
- Other garage door openers, wireless: add the RB709U-NB receiver.
- Newer Mighty Mule openers (MM271/272, MM371W/372W, MM571W/572W and similar) aren't on Nice's compatibility list for the F310. Nice sells the Mighty Mule FM137 and MMK200 keypads for those.
Wireless
Quicker to install: batteries in, DIP switches set, mount it within 50 ft of the receiver, and test before you fix it in place.
Wired
The manual suggests hard-wiring near cell towers or airports, where radio interference can make wireless use unreliable. Wiring it turns the radio off, and powering it from the opener keeps the AAs as backup.
Codes and security
Codes
- 25 entry codes of exactly 4 digits
- A 4-digit master code (default 1234, change it first)
- Temporary codes that expire after 1–7 days
Security
- Codes stay in memory when the batteries die; only a 2-second press of RESET clears them
- More than 20 presses without a matching code locks it for 40 s
Day and night
- After a valid code the keypad stays active for 40 s, and any key stops or reverses the gate
- Keys light up and beep when pressed, so it's usable at night

Frequently asked questions
Which gate openers does the F310 work with?
Nice lists all Linear Pro / GTO swing and slide gate operators, wired or wireless, including the PRO-SW2000XLS, 3000XLS and 4000XLS. GP series operators and the Bulldog pedestrian gate lock work wired only.
Will it work with another brand of gate or garage door opener?
Hard-wired, yes, if the opener runs at 24 V or less and accepts a normally-open contact: wire it to the opener's CYCLE and COM terminals. For wireless use with another brand's garage door opener, add the GTO RB709U-NB receiver.
Does it work with newer Mighty Mule openers?
Nice doesn't list the F310 for current Mighty Mule openers such as the MM271/272, MM371W/372W or MM571W/572W. For those, Nice sells the Mighty Mule FM137 and MMK200 keypads.
How do I pair it wirelessly?
Set the 9 DIP switches inside the keypad to match your gate opener's entry remote. It transmits at 318 MHz. Keep it within 50 ft of the opener's receiver and test the range before mounting it permanently.
How many codes does it hold, and how long are they?
25 entry codes, each exactly 4 digits, plus a separate 4-digit master code used to add and delete codes. The master code ships as 1234, so change it first.
Can I give a guest a temporary code?
Yes. Temporary codes can be set to expire after 1 to 7 days.
What powers it?
Three AA batteries (not included). You can also power it at 8–24 V AC or DC from the opener through its POWER IN terminals; the AAs then act as backup.
Do I lose my codes when the batteries die?
No. Codes stay in memory without batteries. Only a 2-second press of the RESET button erases them and returns the master code to 1234.
Should I install it wired or wireless?
Wireless avoids trenching a wire to the gate. The manual recommends hard-wiring where radio interference is likely, for example near cell towers or airports. Wiring it turns the radio off; use 16-gauge stranded direct-burial wire in PVC conduit.
Can I use it at night?
Yes. The keys light up and the keypad beeps when any key is pressed.
What stops someone guessing codes?
More than 20 key presses without a matching code locks the keypad for 40 seconds.
Where should I mount it?
Within sight of the gate but at least 10 ft from it, where nobody can reach through or touch the gate while using the keypad. It needs a post or wall; the hooded cover screws on.
F310 or AK-11?
The F310 is a battery or low-voltage keypad for one gate, with 25 codes and a wireless option. The Linear AK-11 is a wired, cast-aluminum keypad with up to 480 codes and two relays, suited to busier gates or a gate plus a door.
What's the warranty?
One year from purchase against defects in workmanship. Keep your proof of purchase.
