About
The DoorBird flush-mount housing is the in-wall backbox for the D2101KV and its sibling door stations. It sits in a cut-out in the wall or pillar, so once the station's front panel is screwed on, only the brushed front shows: the clean, built-in look for new construction and renovations.
Fits these DoorBird door stations
- D2101KV
- D2102FV Fingerprint 50
- D2102FV EKEY

- D2102FV EKEY sLine

Per DoorBird, it fits only these models.
- D2101V and D2201V: they use a different flush housing
- The protective hood: it needs the surface-mount housing
What's in the box
- Flush-mount backbox in 1.4301 stainless steel, with a gasket on the flange
DoorBird doesn't publish a fuller packing list.
What you'll still need
- A compatible DoorBird door station, such as the D2101KV, sold separately
- A wall cut-out and sealing compound
- A shielded Cat.5 or better network cable to a PoE switch or injector (IEEE 802.3af Mode A)
Installation
- Cut the opening. The body is 325 × 107 mm and 45 mm deep; cut the opening 4 mm larger (about 13.0 × 4.4 in). The 347.5 × 126.5 mm flange rests on the wall face.
- Test-fit first. Mount the front panel on the housing and tighten both security screws before setting it in the wall.
- Seal it. Apply sealing compound around the housing, make sure the flange sits on the wall, and keep the gasket free of mortar so the front panel seals.

Frequently asked questions
Does it include the intercom?
No, it's only the backbox. The D2101KV door station is sold separately, and DoorBird's data sheet says the station ships without a mounting housing.
Which DoorBird door stations does it fit?
DoorBird says it fits only these IP video door stations: D2101KV, D2102FV Fingerprint 50, D2102FV EKEY, D2101FV EKEY sLine, D2102FV EKEY sLine, D2201KV, D2202FV Fingerprint 50, D2201FV EKEY sLine and D2202FV EKEY sLine. It does not fit the D2101V or D2201V, which use different housings.
How big is the wall cut-out?
The housing body is 325 × 107 mm (12.80 × 4.21 in) and 45 mm (1.77 in) deep. DoorBird specifies a cut-out 4 mm larger than the body, about 13.0 × 4.4 in. The 347.5 × 126.5 mm flange sits on the wall face.
Can I use the protective hood with it?
No. DoorBird says the protective hood requires the surface-mount housing, so it can't be fitted to a flush install.
How is it sealed against water?
DoorBird says to apply sealing compound to protect the housing from moisture, make sure the outer edge sits on the wall, and keep the flange gasket free of construction residue so the front panel seals.
Can I build it into a gate pillar or mailbox?
Yes, with care. For cavity mounting DoorBird requires protection from dripping, running and condensation water, no pooling, air circulation and drainage at the base, or the warranty is declined.
What material is it?
Stainless steel, grade 1.4301 on DoorBird's drawing. (The surface-mount housing and hood are the tougher V4A grade.)
What warranty does it have?
DoorBird gives 24 months from the original purchase date.
