Powers these DoorBird devices

  • D11x and D21x door stations, including the D2101KV
  • A1081 I/O Door Controller
  • A1061W IP door chime and A1051 internet firewall
  • D410 smart door controller and A8008 4D radar motion sensor
  • Devices that need PoE+ or 57 V, such as the D22x and D31x series: not on DoorBird's list
  • More than one device: one adapter powers one device; for several, DoorBird suggests a PoE switch or a DIN-rail supply

What's in the box

  • DoorBird 15 V DC, 1 A mains adapter with a lead ending in two bare wires
  • Interchangeable plug adapters: US, EU, UK and AU

What you'll still need

  • A DoorBird device with a 15 V DC screw-terminal input
  • Two-conductor wire to extend the run if the device isn't near an outlet

Wiring and use

Connect red to 15 VDC + and black to 15 VDC − on the device's screw terminal. Don't power a device from this adapter and PoE at the same time. The adapter is for indoor use only.

DoorBird covers it for 24 months from purchase. DoorBird also says its devices must run on DoorBird-sourced power supplies: a third-party supply voids the device's warranty.

Frequently asked questions

Which DoorBird devices does it power?

DoorBird lists D11x and D21x door stations (including the D2101KV), the A1081 I/O Door Controller, the A1061W door chime, the A1051 firewall, the D410 smart door controller and the A8008 radar motion sensor. It is not listed for PoE+ or 57 V devices such as the D22x and D31x series.

Do I need it for a D2101KV?

Only if you aren't using PoE. The D2101KV accepts 15 V DC, but it runs on PoE (IEEE 802.3af Mode A) over its network cable, and DoorBird's D21x manual recommends PoE. No power supply comes with the D2101KV.

Does it work on US outlets?

Yes. A US plug is included along with EU, UK and AU plugs, and it runs on standard 120 V AC.

Can one adapter power several devices?

No. It's designed to power one device. For several devices, DoorBird suggests a PoE switch or a DIN-rail power supply.

Can I use a generic 15 V supply instead?

DoorBird says to use only its own power supplies, which are electrically stabilised to avoid audio interference. Using a third-party supply voids the device's warranty.

How does it connect to the device?

The lead ends in two bare wires that go into the device's 15 VDC screw terminal: red to + and black to −. Don't use it and PoE on the same device at the same time.

Isn't a power supply already in the box?

The A1081 controller and the A1101 indoor station each include one. D21x door stations such as the D2101KV don't, so this adapter is for them (when not on PoE) or as a spare.

Can it be used outdoors?

No. It's for indoor use only; run low-voltage wire from an indoor outlet to the device.
